DRC and Burundi reaffirm strengthening of military cooperation

The bilateral military cooperation between the DRC and Burundi was reaffirmed during the 18th ordinary session of the African Union's specialized technical committee on defense held in Bujumbura. Defense ministers Guy Kabombo Muadiamvita and Marie-Chantal Nijimbere discussed strengthening joint operations to combat rebel movements threatening the stability of both countries. The Congolese minister also emphasized the importance of an African response to the ongoing insecurity in Eastern DRC.
