DRC and Germany seal partnership to strengthen women’s leadership and inclusive governance

The Congolese government and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation signed an agreement in Kinshasa on October 22, 2026, to promote women’s leadership and inclusive governance. The DRC and Germany aim to increase women’s and young people’s participation in decision-making and remove structural barriers to inclusion, in line with the 2024–2028 National Strategic Development Plan. Constantin Grund, the Foundation’s resident representative, said the partnership reflects its commitment to democracy, social justice and equal opportunities. Prime Minister Judith Suminwa urged women to overcome psychological and social barriers.
