DRC: Deaf People Educated on Ebola Risks

In Kisangani, Democratic Republic of the Congo, intervention teams organized a sensitization session for deaf individuals regarding the risks of Ebola. Dr. Gloris Esaa emphasized that these individuals often struggle to communicate their symptoms at hospitals, leading to potential under-evaluation of their condition. The sensitization, interpreted in sign language by Gilbert Kazingufu, helped participants better identify the signs of the disease. Currently, the DRC has reported 7541 confirmed cases of Ebola and 3639 deaths.
