DRC: Draft law on LPG validated after a process involving public authorities, private sector, and civil society

The draft law on the organization of the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo was validated on September 17 and 18, 2026, in Kinshasa. This process, supported by the World Bank and UNDP, aims to establish a legal framework to diversify cooking energy sources and reduce pressure on forests. The development of this text began in March 2026 and involved several diagnostic and validation workshops with various stakeholders, including public administrations and civil society.
