DRC: Ebola virus progressing even faster despite response

WHO emergencies chief Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu said his visit to the heart of the Ebola outbreak in DRC was both encouraging and deeply concerning. The outbreak in the eastern part of the country is the fastest-spreading in history, with new challenges emerging as work begins on two treatments for an Ebola strain with no existing treatment. Despite progress in reducing cases, the outbreak is accelerating.
