DRC elections: Amid delays in implementing the 2025–2029 roadmap, SYMOCEL urges CENI to update it

SYMOCEL is urging the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) to update its 2025–2029 roadmap, as several planned activities are delayed less than two years before the 2028 elections. In a report titled “DRC 2028: Avoiding Electoral Shipwreck,” the organization recommends publishing a revised schedule that sets out progress, reasons for delays, required resources and catch-up measures. It also calls on Parliament to strengthen budgetary oversight and track election funding, and on the courts to uphold the Constitution and ensure access to legal remedies.
