DRC-EU: Douglas Darius Carpenter officially accredited in Kinshasa, succeeding Nicolas Berlanga

Douglas Darius Carpenter officially presented his credentials to President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi in Kinshasa, becoming the new European Union ambassador to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He succeeds Nicolas Berlanga, whose term ended in December 2025. President Tshisekedi welcomed the partnership between the EU and the DRC, reaffirming his commitment to continue this cooperation, especially in light of the security and humanitarian challenges facing the country.
