DRC: facing humanitarian emergency and decline in foreign aid, government relies on national solidarity to support the most vulnerable

The Democratic Republic of Congo remains at the heart of an unprecedented humanitarian situation, marked by armed conflicts, massive displacements, climate shocks and recurring epidemics. The government is launching a national solidarity campaign to support people affected by humanitarian crises. The initiative will be officially launched on Tuesday, August 25, in Kinshasa by President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi. The campaign aims to revive the culture of mutual aid within the Congolese population.
