DRC: Fayulu denounces Prince Epenge’s transfer to Makala despite suspension of admissions to the Kinshasa prison

Martin Fayulu denounced on X the transfer of Prince Epenge to Kinshasa’s overcrowded Makala Central Prison, despite a suspension of new admissions, and called for his immediate release. Lawyer Clément Muza said the Kinshasa/Gombe court had denied Epenge provisional release and that his legal team had not been notified of the transfer. ECIDé secretary-general Devos Kitoko called the transfer a serious precedent for democracy in the DRC.
