Over 250 people exposed to the Ebola virus are participating in a clinical trial in Rwampara, Ituri province, Democratic Republic of the Congo, testing an experimental antiviral treatment based on post-exposure prophylaxis. Launched in July, the study aims to prevent the disease in recent contacts of confirmed cases, with a follow-up period of 21 to 42 days. Some participants joined the trial after losing loved ones, including a participant who was motivated by the death of her uncle from Ebola.
