The national road network of the Democratic Republic of the Congo increased from 3,000 kilometers to nearly 8,000 kilometers between 2019 and 2026, according to Minister of Infrastructure and Public Works John Banza. He presented these figures Tuesday in Kinshasa at a press briefing, highlighting the issues of economic sovereignty, national integration, and infrastructure development. A significant portion of the projects, especially on National Road 1, relies on external funding from the World Bank, the African Development Bank, and revised Sino-Congolese agreements.
