Véron Mosengo-Omba was elected president of the Congolese Football Association (Fecofa) during the elective general assembly in Kinshasa, receiving 60 out of 65 votes. Although he secured the majority, his election is tainted by allegations of favoritism and fraud, and there were no other candidates in the running. Mosengo-Omba succeeds Constant Omari, who was president of Fecofa from 2003 to 2021.
