DRC: still no withdrawal of Rwandan troops expected by mid-July by Washington

As of July 15, 2026, no withdrawal of Rwandan Defense Forces from eastern DRC has been officially observed, despite the hope expressed on June 4 by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to see Rwandan troops withdraw by mid-July. Clashes continue in North and South Kivu, and the Washington peace accord does not include automatic sanctions for non-compliance.
