The National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of the Congo opened its ordinary September session on September 15, 2026, focusing on the examination of the state budget for 2027 and several institutional reforms. The president of the lower house, Aimé Boji Sangara, announced that texts related to the referendum and electoral reforms will be examined, two years ahead of the elections scheduled for 2028.
