DRC/Ebola: Tshopo Runs Out of Vaccine Stocks, Vaccination Still Partial

The stock of Ebola vaccine doses ERVEBO has been exhausted in Tshopo province, where only 42.3% of the target population has been vaccinated as of September 26. Demand increased following the death of a doctor on September 24, but several areas, including Kabondo, Tshopo, and Bafwasende, no longer have vaccine supplies. A total of 4,953 people have been vaccinated out of a target of 11,703, with coverage rates varying by zone. Vaccination continues in Bunia, Ituri, but has not yet started for frontline personnel in North Kivu, as the Ebola epidemic has resulted in 3,901 deaths out of 8,067 confirmed cases in DRC.
