Drone attack on Colombian army base kills three soldiers and wounds 16

A drone attack on a military base in Santa Rosa del Sur, northern Colombia, killed three soldiers and wounded at least 16, according to the armed forces. Authorities have not identified those responsible; the gold-rich area is contested by the Gulf Clan, the ELN and smaller groups led by former FARC members. President Abelardo de la Espriella vowed to defend the country as violence has risen since he took office in August and cancelled peace talks with rebel groups.
