EA millers seek options as Baltic states plan blockade of Russian wheat

Wheat supplies to East Africa could be disrupted after Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania initiated a petition to the European Union to block Russian grain transit through the Baltic Sea. If successful, Kenyan and Tanzanian millers, already facing documentation delays and uncertain shipping routes, will experience further shortages. Russia has increasingly shifted its grain exports to Baltic ports following disruptions in its traditional Black Sea and Sea of Azov routes caused by the war with Ukraine.
