East African Community is now speeding up regional capital markets integration

The East African Community (EAC) has restarted the process of regional capital markets integration to support preparations for the East African Monetary Union. During a three-day meeting, capital market leaders emphasized the importance of regional coordination to advance this agenda. The Committee was reactivated after a hiatus since 2019, and updated Terms of Reference were adopted to guide its work.
