East African Community Trade reaches USD 52.3 billion, with China listed as largest importer of goods from EAC

Total trade in the East African Community reached over USD 52.3 billion in the second quarter of 2026, with exports rising by 41.3% to USD 26.3 billion. China remained the largest export destination, with exports nearly doubling to USD 10.7 billion. African markets also contributed to growth, with exports to African countries increasing by 44.3%.
