East of the DRC: RSF warns about the confiscation and control of buildings belonging to dignitaries from Kinshasa by AFC/M23

The AFC/M23 rebels, who captured Goma in January 2025, are confiscating buildings belonging to dignitaries from Kinshasa, including the Nyiragongo Musisimuke radio and television station, which has been turned into an intelligence office. Senator Bahati Lukwebo has also had his properties, including the Serena hotel, seized. Human rights organizations report illegal seizures of vehicles by these rebels.
