Luanda hosted the 26th extraordinary session of the African Union Executive Council, led by Angolan President João Lourenço. During this meeting, he emphasized that the crisis in the Democratic Republic of the Congo transcends national borders and poses a challenge to the collective security of the region. He mentioned armed group movements, refugee flows, and arms trafficking as aggravating factors of this situation. Lourenço advocated for continued mediation efforts under the auspices of the African Union.
