Eastern DRC: Army and FRN clashes continue in Kibati (Walikale) for a second consecutive day

The FARDC, backed by wazalendo fighters, are continuing to clash with rebels from the Front for the Refoundation of the Nation (FRN) in Kibati, in North Kivu’s Walikale territory. Residents of Habula, Bussi and Ndurumo have fled, with some taking refuge in the bush, while people in Kashebere remain alarmed. The fighting has also slowed socioeconomic activity in several nearby communities.
