Eastern DRC: At the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights, Samuel Mbemba Accuses Joseph Kabila of Intending to Worsen Violence

Congolese Minister of Human Rights, Samuel Mbemba, accused former President Joseph Kabila of seeking to worsen insecurity in eastern DRC during the 89th session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights in Dakar. He criticized Kabila's creation of a new political-military movement replacing the AFC/M23 rebellion and warned the African Union about Rwanda's expansionist ambitions and its armed allies in the region. Mbemba also pointed out that Kabila's speech on October 9 did not mention Rwandan aggression, which he considers the main cause of instability and human rights violations.
