Ebola: 43 new cases and 24 deaths recorded in Ituri and North Kivu

Forty-three new cases of Ebola (42 in Ituri and 1 in North Kivu) and 24 deaths were recorded in 48 hours, according to the latest epidemiological report from the COUSP RDC. The cumulative confirmed cases reach 1,873, with 672 deaths and an overall case fatality rate of 36% since the declaration of the 17th epidemic on May 15, 2026. Six patients were declared cured, and the epidemic is now spreading to Tshopo and Haut-Uele provinces. Health authorities urge compliance with barrier measures and early consultation if symptoms appear.
