Ebola: Atiku raises alarm over Tinubu government’s failure to account for N10bn fund

Atiku Abubakar accused Bola Tinubu’s government of failing to account for the 10 billion naira announced in June for Ebola preparedness. After the federal government confirmed Nigeria’s first case in Abuja on Tuesday, the former vice president called for disclosure of the funds disbursed, contracts awarded, recipients and items delivered. He said the patient arrived in Nigeria on October 5, developed symptoms on October 7 and sought care at a private hospital on October 11, but the case was not publicly confirmed until October 20. Atiku said 44 close contacts went unmonitored and private health workers lacked adequate protective equipment, and warned against using the outbreak to restrict political activities or voting.
