Ebola epidemic: risk of contamination within the EU deemed 'very low'

European health authorities on Wednesday deemed the risk of Ebola contamination within the EU as 'very low' amid the outbreak in Central Africa. Pamela Rendi-Wagner, director of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, reported 332 confirmed cases and 49 deaths in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda, along with 116 suspected cases. No cases have been imported into the EU or EEA to date, she stated.
