Ebola: FG Confirms Evacuation of Nigeria’s Index Patient and Husband to Switzerland

Nigeria’s Health Minister, Muhammad Ali Pate, confirmed that the country’s index patient in its first imported Ebola case was evacuated from Abuja to Switzerland on Monday after significant clinical improvement. She was stable, conscious and communicating, but Pate cautioned that she could still be infectious and that strict public health protocols remained in place. Her husband, who has remained asymptomatic, accompanied her. The government said it would provide further updates after they arrived and urged the public to remain vigilant.
