Ebola in DRC: a vaccination campaign to protect healthcare workers

The Democratic Republic of Congo has initiated a vaccination campaign for healthcare workers in Bunia, the epicenter of the Bundibugyo Ebola virus outbreak. Health workers are receiving the Ervebo vaccine, used under compassionate grounds due to the lack of an approved vaccine for this strain. The outbreak has resulted in 7,541 confirmed cases and 3,639 deaths, primarily in Ituri, where the situation is complicated by insecurity.
