Ebola in DRC: MSF insists ERVEBO does not replace prevention measures against Bundibugyo virus

As the Bundibugyo Ebola virus outbreak continues in the DRC, MSF emphasizes that the ERVEBO vaccine used in the BRAVO study is not a solution to end the epidemic. Launched on September 19, 2026, in Ituri, the study aims to assess ERVEBO's effectiveness among frontline workers, even though it is not approved for the Bundibugyo virus. MSF stresses that vaccination is an additional protective measure and does not replace existing prevention and infection control protocols such as protective equipment and prompt symptom reporting.
