Ebola in DRC: Progress Made, but the Epidemic Remains Concerning (UN)

Efforts to contain the Ebola epidemic in Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo are beginning to yield results, although the disease remains a major threat. According to the UN, the epidemic is progressing exponentially in North Kivu province, despite signs of improvement in other areas. Congolese authorities reported a slowdown in transmission since the peak reached in mid-August, but vigilance is necessary to prevent a resurgence of the epidemic.
