Ebola in DRC: Roger Kamba announces coercive measures against partners who do not justify mobilized funds in the response

The Congolese government, through Health Minister Roger Samuel Kamba, announced coercive measures against organizations that do not justify the funds received for the Ebola response of the Bundibugyo strain. Of the 97 partners present, only about 25% have accounted for their financial resources, following an order from President Félix Tshisekedi. The government will send notices to the concerned partners demanding accountability, with the risk of losing their accreditation or intervention by the DGM. The financial management of the initial three-month response plan, totaling around $227 million, remains partly opaque, complicating discussions with the IMF and affecting visibility on mobilized resources.
