Ebola in DRC: Updated toll rises to 3,175 deaths out of 6,600 confirmed cases

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, over 6,600 confirmed cases of Ebola have been reported, with a toll of 3,175 deaths, according to the presidential Ebola Task Force report. The Ituri province is the epicenter of the outbreak, accounting for 80.6% of cases. An emergency plan has been launched to strengthen the response, but insecurity in the eastern part of the country complicates control efforts.
