Ebola: Ogun steps up surveillance, says no case recorded in the state

After the Federal Government announced an Ebola case in the Federal Capital Territory, Ogun State stepped up surveillance and preparedness, while reporting no cases in the state. Health Commissioner Dr. Tomi Coker said 111 people who had travelled from high-risk countries were monitored and discharged from follow-up after completing the required surveillance period. The state has trained health personnel and intensified public awareness and infection-prevention measures in healthcare facilities. Coker outlined possible symptoms and transmission routes, and advised residents to wash their hands regularly and avoid contact with the bodily fluids of anyone suspected of infection.
