Ebola: Senate urges mandatory screening at all entry points

Checks would include a health declaration form, temperature checks and symptom screening, with enhanced measures for anyone who has been in or transited an affected area in the previous 21 days. The Senate also called for emergency funding, trained health staff and equipment at entry points, and ready isolation and treatment centres in all 36 states and Abuja. It urged lawmakers to replace the 1926 Quarantine Act with modern public health legislation and rejected a motion for senators to visit principal entry points.
