ECOWAS against GBV: Banjul hosts the First Ladies' forum of the SWEDD+ project

The First Ladies of the SWEDD+ member countries gathered in Banjul to collectively combat gender-based violence (GBV). ECOWAS Commission President Omar Alieu Touray emphasized the importance of this fight as a community requirement. The Gambian government declared that combating GBV is a national priority, supported by legislative reforms. First Ladies Fatoumata Bah-Barrow and Marie Khone Faye promoted the principle of 'zero tolerance' towards GBV.
