ECOWAS: RSF takes Benin and Ivory Coast to court for the arrest of 2 journalists

The organization Reporters Without Borders (RSF) filed a complaint with the ECOWAS Court against Benin and Ivory Coast for their role in the arrest of two journalists, Hugues Comlan Sossoukpè and Ali Moumouni, in July 2025. The complaint, brought by lawyer Koffi Sylvain Mensah Attoh, denounces violations of regional and international rights and demands their immediate release. The events involve the abduction of Sossoukpè, an investigative journalist in exile, while covering an event in Abidjan.
