Ecrans Noirs Festival 2026: Are There No More Quality Web Series in Cameroon?

At the presentation of the official selection for the Ecrans Noirs Festival in Yaoundé on September 29, organizers announced the suspension of the Best Web Series category for the 30th edition, scheduled from November 21 to 28, 2026. The decision was based on most submitted web series having already been published online, mainly on YouTube, with some reaching between 200,000 and one million views. Only two works met the exclusivity requirement, which was deemed insufficient to keep the category, leading to its suspension for this year with plans to resume in 2027.
