Ecuador defends US sinking of vessels as joint anti-drug operation

Ecuador's government defended a US operation that sank three vessels accused of supporting drug trafficking in the Eastern Pacific. Interior Minister John Reimberg stated that these vessels were refueling points for speedboats transporting drugs northward. Relatives of crew members accused the US military of acting without evidence, claiming the men were fishermen.
