Upon arrival, victims find themselves stripped of their passports and forced to work in online scam centers, deceiving people from afar. At least 300,000 people are estimated to have been trafficked into such operations across Southeast Asia, and survivors, supported by the International Organization for Migration, are now working to warn other young people about the dangers.
