Despite reforms in the Beninese educational system, students continue to favor literary streams, with nearly 65% of candidates in the 2026 Baccalauréat coming from these fields. Scientific and technical streams account for only 5% of enrollments, leading to a shortage of technical skills in the job market. To address this situation, it is crucial to demystify sciences from primary school and promote mentorship programs to inspire vocations, especially among girls.
