Education Ministry Steps Up El Niño Preparations Ahead of National Exams

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba has intensified preparations to protect schools and ensure national examinations proceed as Kenya anticipates El Niño rains from October to December 2026. A preparedness meeting was held with various agencies, including the Kenya National Examinations Council and the Kenya Meteorological Service, to coordinate emergency measures. Ogamba emphasized the need to continue examinations even in flood-affected areas and has collaborated with the Red Cross to enhance emergency response capabilities.
