Mexico’s Sheinbaum says she spoke with Trump as trade negotiations continue

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum stated that she had a "very good" phone call with US President Donald Trump as both countries work towards a bilateral trade agreement. She expressed hope that the deal would lead to a reduction in US tariffs on Mexican products, particularly in the steel, aluminum, and automotive industries. The negotiations aim to conclude before the US midterm elections, where voters partly blame rising prices on Trump's import taxes.
