EFCC Investigator Says He Was Unaware of NAF-FAAN Dispute Over Katsina Airport Project Site

Christopher Odofin, an EFCC investigator and the prosecution’s 12th witness, told the Federal Capital Territory High Court that he was unaware of a dispute between the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and FAAN over the site of a project awarded to Al Buraq Global Investment at Katsina airport. He said no land had been allocated for the apron expansion and acknowledged that EFCC investigators had interviewed neither Katsina State Ministry of Lands officials nor NAF or FAAN personnel. Former Aviation Minister Hadi Abubakar Sirika, his daughter, son-in-law and Al Buraq face charges of abuse of office and alleged contract fraud involving N2.8 billion, including a N1.498 billion apron-extension contract. Odofin nevertheless said the investigation was thorough and that relevant documents had been included in the evidence.
