Egypt: Al Ahly goalkeeper El-Shenawy assaults referee and faces heavy sanctions

Mohamed El Shenawy, goalkeeper for Al Ahly, lost his temper during a match against Ceramica Cleopatra FC, where he pushed a referee after a penalty was denied. The match ended in a 1-1 draw. As a result, the Egyptian Professional Football League imposed a four-match suspension and a fine of 50,000 Egyptian pounds on him. Despite this incident, El Shenawy is expected to participate in the upcoming World Cup with the Egyptian national team.
