Ekiti council polls: Court dismisses ADC suit against EKSIEC

The Ekiti State High Court in Ado-Ekiti dismissed the African Democratic Congress (ADC) suit challenging guidelines for local government and LCDA elections scheduled for December 12, 2026. Justice S.B.J. Bamise described the plaintiffs as “meddlesome interlopers” who, the court said, sought to truncate the elections. The court awarded N100,000 in costs to EKSIEC and the other defendant. The case was first filed at the Federal High Court and later transferred to the State High Court.
