Ekiti declares Monday work-free for Teachers to mark world Teachers’ day

The Ekiti State Government has declared Monday, October 5, 2026, a non-working day for teachers to enable their full participation in World Teachers’ Day activities. The Commissioner for Education, Dr Olabimpe Aderiye, stated this measure was to give teachers the opportunity to celebrate and highlight their vital role in education. All public school students will stay home on that day, and the commissioner urged parents and school authorities to prepare accordingly. He also praised teachers for their dedication and professionalism, assuring ongoing government support and appreciation for their contributions to education and the future of Ekiti children.
