Ekurhuleni killings: South Africa's President Ramaphosa orders crackdown on unsafe streets to keep women safe

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa announced an audit of unsafe streets where women are at risk, after 12 women’s bodies were found in two months east of Johannesburg. He also plans to implement measures to reduce alcohol-related violence and has called for safety audits in high-risk areas to identify hazards like broken streetlights and unsafe public spaces. Ramaphosa emphasized that violence against women begins with sexist attitudes and must be addressed at all levels. Four arrests have been made so far.
