Electoral Code: Returned by the Head of State, What Will Happen Next for the Law

President Bassirou Diomaye Faye has returned the law amending the Electoral Code to the National Assembly, initiating a new institutional phase. By activating Article 73 of the Constitution, he requested a new deliberation on Articles L29 and L30 of the Electoral Code. This procedure effectively suspends the normal promulgation process until the National Assembly reexamines the text.
