Electricity: 16,000 Smart Meters to Improve Billing for Public Entities - Investir au Cameroun

Cameroon has received 16,000 smart meters primarily for public buildings to better monitor electricity consumption of government entities. The goal is to install at least 10,000 of these meters by the end of 2026, especially at government delivery points, to improve data accuracy and transparency. A second batch of 30,000 meters is scheduled for residential connections, with deployment planned for October. The Ministry of Water and Energy aims to strengthen control over public energy expenditure.
