Electricity: Good news confirmed for SENELEC customers

Senelec recorded a 3% increase in its total electricity production in January 2026 compared to the previous month, mainly due to a 9% rise in purchases from other producers. Although its own production fell by 13.5%, total production increased by 7.3% year-on-year. This development could enhance electricity availability for customers, although increased reliance on external producers may affect long-term costs.
